Anna (Anya) Phelan

Anya is an ecological economist and sustainable development specialist. She is a Lecturer and Research Fellow at the University of Queensland Business School where she teaches Strategies for Business Sustainability and Innovation. Anya’s research themes include decarbonisation, ocean plastic, circular economy, and sustainable livelihoods. She recently led a research project investigating factors contributing to plastic pollution in Eastern Indonesia and was also part of the business development team for the Capturing Coral Reef & Related Ecosystem Services(CCRES) project, focused on alternative sustainable livelihoods that protect and enhance coastal ecosystems.
